What this expert provides
The Port Mooring expert assesses how ships are moored at berths and alongside other ships: tankers, gas carriers, bulk and container ships at jetties, wharves, quays and dolphins, ship-to-ship (STS) moorings, and berth mooring layout (bollards, quick-release hooks, dolphins, fenders).
Expert Profile
Checks the line layout, line types and tails, pretension and load sharing under the governing environmental criteria, and reports line, winch brake and hook loads and ship motions at the berth. It applies ship-side criteria (for example OCIMF MEG) and berth-side criteria separately and never mixes the two; when a check fails it re-analyses an improved arrangement rather than estimating the effect.
Key Capabilities
- Line tensions per group in kN and % of MBL
- Winch brake, hook and bollard load checks
- Ship surge, sway and yaw at the berth
- Re-solved arrangements when a check fails
- Operating wind limits by direction
